New Things at Shabee Stitches

Hey All....

Things have sure changed a lot in the last year.......we made it to Asheville and my new studio is more than I ever expected. Big enough to work in and to have everything I need around me!
Asheville is nice....well just so long as this Yankee doesn't leave the city limits. People here have an attitude about "foreigners" moving in....which really gripes me because if the wanted to keep us Yamkees and half backs out of here...why sell us the land to build on????? Love that Yankee money...just not the Yankees....but like I told one guy....it's a package deal, we Yankess come with the money.
So, I'm going to stick pretty well with webite sales and maybe some trade shows in Tennessee..it's pretty close to western NC. I hear they don't have quite the attitude that I get here in NC.
And a new website.....wow I am so excited about that...www.shabeestitches.com....and it's so pretty.
And new Renaissance ring pillows to boot! Lancelot du Loc is just fab. I made it from metallic blue and champagne vestment fabric and then I beaded it. Jen made a fab beaded fringe just for it using the colors and it is gorgeous.

I am so happy with this one. Next comes red and gold...more on that later. And now we have small things like fancy shoe stuffers and sachets filled with lavender. Progress!!

Till next month.........

Adventures in Selling

Wow, did I sound confident in the last blog!! That sale fell through-the woman lied to us about her "insurance settlement" that was to pay for the trailer. BUT, I was on my toes and kept showing the place. Finally, a young guy from Ft Drum decided he wanted it and actually paid for it. We had to pull teeth to get it-but he paid!!!

So---come April 13th we are venturing out to the wild blue yonder. I can't wait to actually go and really start life! Oh, I started it last year with my new place, to be sure, BUT it will be nice to have all of us together in Asheville.

So far, I have started the business plan for Four O'Clock Tea and have collected a lot of inventory, but I still have a long way to go yet. I also have special orders yet to fill for Shabee Stitches, but it will all come together!

Next blog-FROM ASHEVILLE!!!

Countdown to moving day!

I am beyond thrilled that this mobile home has finally sold! Well, let me just say that on the 18th I will be-when the cash gets delivered here. I'm not a believer until I see it my hand.
But assuming all goes well-
Phase 3 begins-the final move.
I am not looking forward to a 2 day drive to get to the new home. But, the new opportunities that wait for us all there are well worth it.

So, after the cash is delivered, the last of the packing begins.

Modern Bride Finally Happens

Finally, the layout in Modern Bride has happened and I'm happy it did, but a little disappointed too. I wish they had put my pillow a little farther down but something is better than nothing and I got it for free! I can't complain!

This is the pillow they wanted because it had many design elements of the more expensive one and was black and white. They wanted me to stick to $24 for it and i did but truthfully, it's worth a bit more-maybe $30 but it's free advertising!

Anyway, on to more projects.
